In the fall of 2023, Tri-County Builders was contacted by a couple living in South Lyon who wanted to downsize and move into a smaller, but comfortable home. The couple had found a cottage home just east of Whitmore Lake. This property required a full remodel as the previous owner had let it fall into disrepair.
The first significant project was repairing mechanical/electrical/plumbing and creating a new laundry/mechanical area.
In the photos below, you will see several “before” photos, “work in progress photos” and the finished product completed by early July.
The clients worked closely in the selection process with Chris and Casie to ensure everything chosen would bring their vision to life and maximize the comfort and space available to meet that vision.
Here is a recap of the work involved:
Complete gutting of the entire interior.
Repaired the failing structural components (roof, flooring, etc.)
Managing all aspects of the project from replacing the well to all new flooring, and painting the interior rooms.
Framed walls to create a new functional laundry/mechanical room.
Designed and framed new French doors to create an airy and open master suite.
Master bath remodel: new cabinetry, all new plumbing, and fixtures. New walk-in tile shower with euro door.
Guest bathroom remodel: custom cabinetry, all new plumbing, fixtures, and tub. New tile floor and shower surround.
Our finished product was the new living room, new dining room, new kitchen, new master bedroom with adjacent master bath, two guest bedrooms, a guest bathroom, and a laundry/mechanical room.
